<![CDATA[Do you use your INTUITION to get it done?]]>Fri, 25 Mar 2016 21:34:35 GMThttp://nihalkaur.com/order-minerals--supplements-here/do-you-use-your-intuition-to-get-it-done
You love to rush around and try to get everything done. And you hate it too.

You love feeling important, powerful, effective. You hate feeling overwhelmed, frantic, inundated with urgent and essential tasks.

Rushing around gets you high - an adrenaline high!
Unfortunately, this stress response steals your energy!
And it disrupts your body’s ability to make sustainable energy too.
That’s energy for the evening or tomorrow morning that you’re already sabotaging!

When you’re “getting it done” from your center (fueled by your intuition) you actually BUILD energy.

Let’s distinguish two different types of “getting it done”:

Getting it done from the periphery - When you’re not centered in yourself, you’re responding to other people’s emergencies and running yourself ragged. You are attending to tasks that aren’t aligned with what’s best for you.
Rushing around from your periphery depletes your energy and blocks access to your intuition!

Getting it done from your center - When you’re centered in your wisdom, you’re clear on your goals and you maintain a clear focus to complete tasks in order of priority.

Your intuition is your bodyguard - letting you know which interruptions deserve your time.

Acting from your intuition, you know that there is no priority higher than your well-being.
Your intuition makes sure you are doing things that build your energy all day long!
“Become the hub and everything will come to you.
Become the rim and you go all over the place.” - Yogi Bhajan
Do you want to practice “getting it done” from your center?

Then you must do this: Build the muscle of listening to your intuition

Here’s a quick exercise you can do throughout the day to connect to your intuition and “Get It Done” from your center:

  1. Schedule quiet time for yourself - 3 minutes is enough
  2. Defend your quiet time like it’s a sleeping baby! Don’t let anything convince you to sacrifice this sacred YOU TIME. You can always excuse yourself for a few minutes to the ladies room to have it if you need it.
  3. Settle in, feel your feet on the floor, your gorgeous tush in your chair.
  4. Take 3-6 deep, slow breaths.
  5. Listen. You are a fountain of wisdom, all we’re practicing here is getting good at listening to your fountain of wisdom!
  6. Notice any doubting or nay saying inclinations your mind has. Remember your mind is not exactly your friend. Say, "Hi mind, thanks for your input, I’m gonna ignore what you’re saying for now, and keep listening for my fountain of wisdom.”
  7. Keep listening for your wisdom - It’s there! I promise you. Soon, when you’re used to hearing it, your inner wisdom will seem LOUD and PROUD!

Do this daily, and if you’re having a stressful week, do it several times throughout the day, whenever you notice you’re overwhelmed.

Your voice will show you the easiest way through whatever you’re facing. It will show you how to claim your majesty. It will show you how to avoid those pesky energy pitfalls that are rampant in modern life!

All love, from my center to yours,
Nihal

<![CDATA[Pop Quiz: Do you know how to receive energy?]]>Fri, 11 Mar 2016 21:58:48 GMThttp://nihalkaur.com/order-minerals--supplements-here/pop-quiz-do-you-know-how-to-receive-energy
Why do so many women tell me to “shut up” when I tell them they’re amazing?

It’s because we have an epidemic of NOT RECEIVING in our culture.

Pop Quiz: Check in with yourself, what do you say when someone compliments you?

  • A) you bashfully say, “Oh, stop!”
  • B) you divert attention back to the speaker, “YOU’RE the beautiful one!”
  • C) you soak it up as a gift from the person speaking to you?

Did you answer A or B?
Here’s the deal, if you can’t receive a compliment, you’re not open to receiving the incredible support that’s available to you! That means you’re not receiving all the energy available to you either!

I mean this literally:

You’re not receiving the full nutrition of your meals!
(Proof: Do you eat while driving, standing, reading, or at the computer?)

You’re not receiving the support the people around you can offer you!
(Proof: Are you feeling overwhelmed by what’s on your plate?)

If you’re putting out more energy than you’re receiving, you are headed for burnout (or you’re already there)!
Receiving is an ESSENTIAL SKILL for you if you want to live your full potential and give your best to the world!

Are you up for the challenge of learning to receive?
Here's a juicy exercise!

Instead of rejecting or deflecting a compliment, say one of these instead:
  • “Yes, it’s true!”
  • “Thank you, God!”

That last one is my favorite, because I get to remember that blessings are flowing to me everywhere in my life from the Divine, and I get to acknowledge the person speaking to me is Divine!

What do you say when you get a compliment?
Let me know below!

Rooting for your energy victory,
Nihal

Most high-power women have no idea they are missing the most important factor to enduring energy… when they skimp on breakfast!

I was recently asked, what constitutes the ideal breakfast?

These are my high-energy breakfast criteria:
  1. Warm or hot
  2. Protein rich
  3. Greens / veggies present
  4. High quality oils (I use ghee, olive oil, and coconut oil)
  5. Eaten while sitting and focused on my food (not reading, driving, or emailing)

<![CDATA[Why to avoid alcohol if you are prone to Anxiety]]>Tue, 27 Oct 2015 04:43:19 GMThttp://nihalkaur.com/order-minerals--supplements-here/why-to-avoid-alcohol-if-you-are-prone-to-anxiety Picture
Alcohol consumption and hangovers are a powerful cause of anxiety for these 6 reasons:

1) Concentration - Drinking is known to cause disorientation

2) Mood - Alcohol affects the flow of serotonin (the "feel good" neurotransmitter) in your brain; making you feel not so good.

3) Dehydration - Can make you feel icky: nauseated, dizzy, light-headed, weak, which can make anxiety worse

4) Heart Rate - Alcohol can cause an elevated hear rate, which many people find alarming.

5) Blood Sugar Drop - This can cause nervousness, irritability, shaking, dizziness, confusion, weakness and numbness.

6) Nervous system regulation - To balance the sedative effect of alcohol, the body enters a state of hyperactivity with symptoms like: sensitivity to light and sound, sleep deprivation, and shaking.

If you are going to drink, scientists recommend
1) Eat first!
2) Drink water between alcoholic drinks
3) Rest the next day in bed while your body adjusts

I recommend replenishing your nutrients with Biolumina Spirulina, and high quality oils, like cod liver oil (rich in essential fatty acids A,D,K) and coconut oil.

Empower your ability to absorb nutrients!

1) Take three deep breaths before starting your meal.
This allows your body to respond to the unique smell of your meal and when your mouth waters, your brilliant body is making specific secretions for you to digest your best.

2) Chew thoroughly
This allows your body to pre-digest food with your body's brilliant specific secretions. Your stomach loves it when you do this!

3) Be with your food
Pay attention to the experience of eating, the flavors, the textures, the experience of satisfaction. Unfortunately, when we read, watch videos, or drive while eating, our body goes into a stress response (sympathetic response) which short-circuits our ability to digest.]]>
<![CDATA[Soothe Your Liver this Spring]]>Mon, 09 Mar 2015 05:55:21 GMThttp://nihalkaur.com/order-minerals--supplements-here/soothe-your-liver-this-springPicture
If you're a 4th grade teacher like my wife, and perhaps even if you aren't, you may have noticed that frustrations are flaring among children and adults these days. Teachers tend to know it comes every spring time, and often attribute it to the approach of summertime. In a way they're right, but really, it's the Springtime that gets us riled up.

According to Traditional East Asian Medicine, Springtime is Liver time, and the liver is the organ that acts up when we're frustrated, disgruntled, or just plain angry.

Children tend to act out more, while adults express their stress in varied degrees of emotion, or suppression. For example, this stress expression and repression cycle is the leading cause of PMS symptoms.

Fortunately there's an incredibly simple solution to support your liver in the moment of stress, JUST BREATHE!

It's been known since ancient China that the lungs control the liver (Metal controls wood, just like an axe cuts down a tree)
. So we can use that to our advantage and free ourselves from any fight or flight stress response simply by breathing consciously and deeply.

If you're a person like me who doesn't get angry much (likely there's a history of repressed anger in there somewhere) you may notice that you instinctively vent your pent up emotions by sighing, the body's unconscious mechanism to get a deep breath. Just ask your family to point out to you when you sigh, it probably happens more than you think!

Consider making it a family exercise to take 3 deep breaths throughout the day.
Especially before meals, before bed, and anytime emotions are rising.

<![CDATA[Spleen Success Story]]>Thu, 05 Feb 2015 06:52:16 GMThttp://nihalkaur.com/order-minerals--supplements-here/spleen-success-storyPicture
"I'm a lot more energized when I get to work than I used to be...not as on edge, and more patient and relaxed."

This is what a patient reported to me earlier this week after making shifts in her eating and sleeping schedule that allowed her body to digest and rest in peace.

Consider for yourself:
Eat a light meal for dinner, and avoid eating after dark. Make sure to give your body 3-4 hours of digesting time between your last meal and bedtime.

Why?

The body requires deep rest during the hours of 11-1am (deep dreamless sleep). If we're digesting during that time instead, our cells miss out on their daily regeneration cycle.

Often when we eat late meals, our body has to digest during our precious sleep cycle. This leaves us feeling groggy and un-rested in the morning, and worse, not hungry for the most important meal of the day: Breakfast.
Skipping breakfast deprives us of our biggest energy-giving meal, so later in the afternoon we're likely to experience energy crashes and cravings.

This leads to binging later in the day, and perpetuates the cycle of late meals and groggy mornings.

Consider making the commitment to small evening meals and a large, warm, protein-rich breakfast. You'll notice a difference in your energy and appetite.
